Abstract

|
This report reviewed myelpapthy following electrical accident. The clinical mantifestations of spinal cord involvement are generally divided into two groups; inmmediate and delayed. The delayed onset of spinal cord injury can happen at anytime
from
a
few days up to two years. Delayed spinal cordl injuries are usually incomplete and include motor and sensory components. It can be progressive and full recovery is uncertain. Possible mechanisms for the spinal cord damage are vascular change and
direct
damage to cord. We experienced three cases with delayed spinal cord injuries during seven year period from 1986 to 1992. There were 268 cases of electrical accidents among 3802 cases of burn patients admitted to Burn Center at Hangang Sacred
Heart
Hospital.
